Description
I’m not a master heirloom craftsman carving ornate Victorian ball-and-claw feet out of rare exotic mahogany. If you want a museum-grade grandfather clock, I’m probably not your guy. But if you need something solid, functional, well-fitted, and built out of good lumber that will outlive particle-board store furniture, I can build it.
Whether it’s a problem area in your garage, a rough patch in the barn, or a specific piece you just can’t find the right dimensions for, I can tackle the project.
The usual kind of work I take on:
Heavy-duty workbenches, garage shelving, and shop organizers
Raised garden beds, compost bins, and outdoor planters
Simple farmhouse tables, utility desks, and thick butcher-block tops
Shed repairs, ramp framing, deck board replacements, and wooden gates
Custom-fit storage boxes, crates, or odd-sized utility builds
Available for drop-off/pickup at my workspace, or on-site work within roughly 20 miles of Brookfield.
Small Jobs & Repairs: $50 minimum to get things set up, make quick cuts, or patch up a broken wooden frame/gate.
General Labor: Typically $40 – $50/hour plus the cost of materials (lumber, hardware, glue, finish).
Flat-Rate Custom Builds: Most people just want to know what the whole piece costs out the door. Tell me the dimensions and what you want it to look like, and I’ll give you a straight all-in price for lumber + build.
Laser Cutting & Engraving:
I also run a laser cutter and engraver in the shop for smaller projects and personalized touches. Great for custom wooden signs, personalized nameplates, precision cut-outs, branded logos on builds, or engraving gifts, cutting boards, and plaques.
Design & CAD Modeling:
If you have a tricky nook, an awkward alcove, or a specific idea in your head, I use Autodesk Fusion to mock up a 3D model first. We can verify dimensions, visualize the build, and make sure it fits your exact space before I make the first cut.
Drop me a message with a rough sketch, a Pinterest link, or the space you're trying to fill, and let's figure out what it takes to build it.
